The rules of Indian Rummy are based on a specific set of conditions, namely the number of players, the number of cards dealt to each player, and the suit of the cards. There are no specific combinations that are prohibited, but some sequences are considered to be more competitive than others. There are also two types of sequences that can be used to eliminate cards in Rummy. The first one is the pure sequence, and the second one is the mixed sequence.
